The registration of a geographical indication shall be for a period of ten years, but may be renewed from time to time in accordance with the provisions of this section.
Any person who is a producer of the (registered) geographical indication can apply to become authorized user of GI by filling “FORM_3A” along with obtaining NOC from the Registered Proprietor of the particular GI and submitting to the office
This Act may be called the Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999. It extends to the whole of India
